Nigeria's stolen phone and gadget registry

Ojú keeps one shared register of phones, laptops and other gadgets reported stolen in Nigeria. Shops across the country check it every time they take an item in, and anyone buying privately can check a number before paying.

How do I check if a phone is stolen in Nigeria?

Dial *#06# on the phone to see its IMEI, then enter that number on Ojú. We search the shared stolen-device registry and tell you straight away whether it has been reported stolen, and by which police station.

How do I report a stolen phone in Nigeria?

Report the theft at a police station, then add the case on Ojú with the IMEI or serial number, the station and the investigating officer. Once our team confirms it with the station, every shop and buyer who checks that number sees the alert — and you are told when someone searches it.

What is an IMEI and where do I find it?

An IMEI is the 15-digit number unique to every phone. Dial *#06#, or look in Settings under About, on the box, or on the SIM tray. Laptops and other gadgets use a serial number in the same way.

Why pay ₦100 on Ojú when some checkers are free?+

Free USSD codes (*315#) and generic websites only check whether an IMEI was typed into an unverified list. Ojú confirms theft reports with Nigerian police stations, checks devices against verified store intakes nationwide, and alerts the true owner whenever their item is searched at any counter.
